Ninja Crispi Pro 5-mode

The Pro format, with a shorter list of modes.

The AS090 looks like the Pro AS101 and is organised in the same way around a modular base. The difference is in the programme list: five modes, without Roast or Dehydrate.

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?

What to know before you choose.

Worth comparing with the AS101 if you mostly use Air Fry, Bake and Recrisp. Before choosing, check whether your usual recipes call for Roast or Dehydrate: both modes are missing.

What it offers

  • Same large and small container set-up as the 7-mode Pro.
  • Temperature setting, Bake mode and dough proving.
  • Modular base designed for the three container sizes of the Pro range.

What to bear in mind

  • No Roast or Dehydrate mode.
  • No Keep Warm.
  • The “Crispi Pro” name alone does not tell it apart from the AS101.

What this means for your recipes

Air Fry, Max Crisp, Recrisp, Bake and Prove recipes written for the Pro can suit the AS090 when their settings are compatible. Do not, however, pick a Roast recipe without adapting it. Using Bake instead would be something to test; it is not an equivalence documented by the manufacturer.

EVERYDAY USE

Getting the best from it

  • No preheating needed, according to the instruction manual.
  • Removing the container pauses cooking; it resumes as soon as you put it back.
  • Frozen food: Air Fry or Max Crisp. Bake is not for frozen food or for reheating a dish.
  • For a standard air fryer recipe, keep the settings and cut the time by 3 to 5 minutes, as the manufacturer’s FAQ advises.
  • Baking paper and foil are allowed in the containers; the glass is rated up to 240 °C.
  • The modular base is hand-wash only.

Frequently asked questions

What are the AS090’s five modes?

Air Fry, Max Crisp, Recrisp, Bake and Prove. Of the two Crispi Pro models, only the AS101 has Roast and Dehydrate.

Can you follow a Roast recipe with the AS090?

The AS090 does not have this mode. An adaptation using Bake must be stated and tested in the recipe; it cannot be assumed from an identical temperature.

Is the temperature adjustable?

Yes, depending on the mode: Air Fry from 150 to 240 °C, Recrisp from 150 to 200 °C and Bake from 120 to 200 °C. Max Crisp is fixed at 240 °C; Prove uses the “PrF” proving setting.

Do the AS090 and AS101 have the same large container?

Both stations are designed for the 5.7 L Pro size. When buying a replacement container, always check the compatibility stated for its reference.
