The author

Marion Lund

From catering kitchens to meal prep
in a 38 m² flat.

After years preparing and portioning takeaway meals, Marion keeps the same habits at home: planning meals, choosing the right container and thinking ahead to what will be reheated the next day.

That is the focus of this notebook: meals for a small household, the Crispi’s glass containers and the practical questions that come with them. Which programme to choose, which container to use and what changes from one appliance to another.

The two appliances in her kitchen

Crispi FN101
The main appliance, with 1.4 L, 2.3 L and 3.8 L containers.
Crispi Pro AS101
For the extra programmes and the large 5.7 L container.

The DualZone, Pro 5 and Pro Grill are presented based on their documentation, without claiming to have tested them.

Your first questions

A few things to clarify
before your first recipe.

How do I identify my model?

Start with the model number on the appliance label: FN101 for the Crispi shown here, AS101 for the Pro and DD102 for the DualZone. The name “Crispi Pro” can also refer to the five-mode AS090, so check the model number before choosing a recipe.

Where do I set the temperature?

On the European Crispi FN101, you choose the mode and cooking time; there is no temperature setting. The Crispi Pro lets you adjust it depending on the programme; Max Crisp uses a fixed temperature.

Do I always need to preheat?

No, the Crispi does not need preheating. The FN101UK guide recommends preheating empty for 5 minutes in three cases: before roasting meat or poultry, before a steak, and, with the crisper plate in, to reheat a slice of pizza, quiche or tart in Recrisp. Everything else starts from cold.

A NOTE FROM MARION

Tonight’s dinner.
And tomorrow’s.

What interests me about the Crispi is everyday cooking: a few vegetables, a portion to reheat, a meal to prepare ahead.

In this notebook, we will talk as much about choosing the right container as what goes into it. With ideas to adapt to your kitchen, your appliance and the time you have.
