Cooking a quiche lorraine in the 1.4 L glass container is a very practical solution. I use the Ninja Crispi container itself as a pie dish, which saves me from dirtying other pans.
No need to preheat: the pastry goes into the cold container, straight onto the crisper plate, and you watch the edges brown through the glass.
I often prepare this quiche for weeknight dinners: the 1.4 L container is the perfect size for two, and you can serve directly from it after cooling. It is quick, organised, and clean-up is easy.

minutesA quiche lorraine cooked directly in the 1.4 L glass container, with the pastry laid cold straight onto the crisper plate.
Ingredients
1 roll of all-butter shortcrust pastry
150 g smoked lardons
2 large eggs
15 cl double cream
1 pinch of grated nutmeg
Salt and pepper from the mill
Instructions
- Insert the crisper plate into the bottom of the 1.4 L container, without the adapter. The container stays cold: no preheating.
- Unroll the shortcrust pastry and cut out a circle approximately 22 cm in diameter. Beat the eggs with the cream, nutmeg, pepper, and a light pinch of salt.
- Line the cold container with the pastry, placing it directly onto the crisper plate, and prick the bottom with a fork.
- Spread the raw lardons over the pastry base, then pour the quiche mixture on top. The liquid should come up to just below the edge of the pastry.
- Place the PowerPod on top. Set the time to 15 to 20 minutes on Air Fry mode. Through the glass, you can see the filling puff up and turn golden.
- Let the quiche rest for 5 minutes in the switched-off container, with the PowerPod removed, before cutting it with a non-metallic spatula. The custard will finish setting.
Crustless quiche express
For a lighter version, lightly grease the bottom and sides of the 1.4 L container without using the crisper plate. Add your raw lardons, pour the quiche mixture directly into the glass, then start the Air Fry mode for 15 minutes.
Which container for which quiche
The container starts cold: never pour a filling straight from the fridge into a hot container, as the glass does not like thermal shock.
The choice of container determines the final result of your tart.
- 1.4 L container: The basic container serves as a direct mould for two people, with the crisper plate at the bottom.
- 3.8 L container: For 4 people, same method directly on the crisper plate, with the adapter fitted and no baking paper.
- Adjustable models: For these versions, select the Air Fry mode at 180 °C for 15 to 20 minutes.
Checking the browning through the glass
The great advantage of the glass container is being able to check the cooking of the filling. After about ten minutes in Air Fry mode, the custard starts to rise near the edges. After 15 minutes, check the colour of the surface: it should be blonde and slightly domed. If it still looks liquid in the centre, extend the cooking time in two-minute increments.
If you notice the surface browning too quickly while the centre is still wobbly, carefully remove the PowerPod to pause. Leave it to rest for a few minutes: the residual heat of the glass will continue to cook the quiche gently without burning the top.
Cooking, serving, and storing in the same dish
This is where the catering approach really makes sense: you line, you cook, you serve, and you store in the same container. Once cooking is finished, let the quiche cool for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting it. The custard will firm up, which allows for clean slices. Remember to use a wooden or silicone spatula to protect the coating of the crisper plate.
If you have slices left over for the next day, let the dish cool completely at room temperature. You can then place the storage lid on and put the container directly into the fridge. Leftovers keep very well for two days.
Reheating in the microwave ruins the pastry. Instead, preheat the container with its crisper plate empty for 5 minutes, place your slice on it and start the Recrisp mode: take it out as soon as the base is crisp. The crunch will return without drying out the lardons.

Frequently asked questions
Can I cook a whole quiche in the 3.8 L container?
Yes: line the pastry directly onto the crisper plate of the 3.8 L container, with the adapter fitted and no baking paper, then keep an eye on the cooking through the glass.
Can I use a frozen quiche?
You can try cooking it using Air Fry while keeping a close eye on the setting of the filling. On Pro models, use the Max Crisp mode at 240 °C.
How do I reheat a slice of quiche from the fridge?
Preheat the crisper plate empty for 5 minutes. Then place your slice of quiche inside and start the Recrisp mode for a few minutes to restore a firm pastry.
